37:9 A tempest blows out from its chamber,

icy cold from the driving winds. ¹ 

Mazmur 83:16

[37:9]  ¹ tn The “driving winds” reflects the Hebrew “from the scatterers.” This refers to the north winds that bring the cold air and the ice and snow and hard rains.

[83:16]  ² tn Heb “fill.”

[83:16]  ³ tn After the preceding imperative, the prefixed verbal form with prefixed vav (ו) indicates purpose or result (“then they will seek”).

[83:16]  ⁴ tn Heb “your name,” which stands here for God’s person.
