31:52 “This pile of stones and the pillar are reminders that I will not pass beyond this pile to come to harm you and that you will not pass beyond this pile and this pillar to come to harm me. ¹ 

Kejadian 24:50

24:50 Then Laban and Bethuel replied, “This is the Lord’s doing. ²  Our wishes are of no concern. ³ 

[31:52]  ¹ tn Heb “This pile is a witness and the pillar is a witness, if I go past this pile to you and if you go past this pile and this pillar to me for harm.”

[24:50]  ² tn Heb “From the Lord the matter has gone out.”

[24:50]  ³ tn Heb “We are not able to speak to you bad or good.” This means that Laban and Bethuel could not say one way or the other what they wanted, for they viewed it as God’s will.
