GOLAN [ensiklopedia]
Kota perlindungan di bagian utara Transyordan di daerah suku Manasye yg disebut Basan (Ul 4:43), suatu kota orang Lewi (Yos 21:27). Tempatnya tidak diketahui dengan pasti, tapi mungkin Sahm el-Jolan, 22 km ke arah timur Afek (Hippo). Daerah Gaulanitis memperoleh namanya dari Golan.
