9:24 Year after year visitors brought their gifts, which included items of silver, items of gold, clothes, perfume, spices, horses, and mules. ³ 

2 Tawarikh 28:23

28:23 He offered sacrifices to the gods of Damascus whom he thought had defeated him. ⁴  He reasoned, ⁵  “Since the gods of the kings of Damascus helped them, I will sacrifice to them so they will help me.” But they caused him and all Israel to stumble.

¹ tn Heb “the wings of these cherubs were spreading twenty cubits.”

² tn Heb “and they were standing on their feet, with their faces to the house.” An alternative translation of the last clause would be, “with their faces to the main hall.”

³ tn Heb “and they were bringing each one his gift, items of silver…and mules, the matter of a year in a year.”

⁴ tn Heb “the gods of Damascus, the ones who had defeated him.” The words “he thought” are supplied in the translation for clarification. The perspective is that of Ahaz, not the narrator! Another option is that “the kings” has been accidentally omitted after “gods of.” See v. 23b.
