1 tn Heb “the wings of these cherubs were spreading twenty cubits.”
2 tn Heb “and they were standing on their feet, with their faces to the house.” An alternative translation of the last clause would be, “with their faces to the main hall.”
3 tn Heb “and they were bringing each one his gift, items of silver…and mules, the matter of a year in a year.”
4 tn Heb “the gods of Damascus, the ones who had defeated him.” The words “he thought” are supplied in the translation for clarification. The perspective is that of Ahaz, not the narrator! Another option is that “the kings” has been accidentally omitted after “gods of.” See v. 23b.
