2 Tawarikh 25:15

25:15 The Lord was angry at Amaziah and sent a prophet to him, who said, “Why are you following ²  these gods ³  that could not deliver their own people from your power?” ⁴ 

¹ tc Heb “do not turn away the face of your anointed ones.” Many medieval Hebrew mss, as well as the ancient versions, read the singular, “your anointed,” which would probably refer to Solomon specifically, rather than the people.

² tn Heb “seeking,” perhaps in the sense of “consulting [an oracle from].”

³ tn Heb “the gods of the people.”
