Kisah Para Rasul 9:14

9:14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison all who call on your name!”

Kisah Para Rasul 13:4

Paul and Barnabas Preach in Cyprus

13:4 So Barnabas and Saul, sent out by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

Kisah Para Rasul 13:23

13:23 From the descendants of this man God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised.

Kisah Para Rasul 28:28

28:28 “Therefore be advised that this salvation from God 10  has been sent to the Gentiles; 11  they 12  will listen!”

tn Grk “to bind.”

sn The expression “those who call on your name” is a frequent description of believers (Acts 2:21; 1 Cor 1:2; Rom 10:13).

tn Grk “they”; the referents (Barnabas and Saul) have been specified in the translation for clarity.

sn Seleucia was the port city of Antioch in Syria.

sn Cyprus was a large island in the Mediterranean off the south coast of Asia Minor.

tn Or “From the offspring”; Grk “From the seed.”

sn From the descendants (Grk “seed”). On the importance of the seed promise involving Abraham, see Gal 3:6-29.

sn The phrase this man is in emphatic position in the Greek text.

tn Grk “according to [his] promise.” The comparative clause “just as he promised” is less awkward in English.

sn Just as he promised. Note how Paul describes Israel’s history carefully to David and then leaps forward immediately to Jesus. Paul is expounding the initial realization of Davidic promise as it was delivered in Jesus.

tn Grk “Therefore let it be known to you.”

10 tn Or “of God.”

11 sn The term Gentiles is in emphatic position in the Greek text of this clause. Once again there is the pattern: Jewish rejection of the gospel leads to an emphasis on Gentile inclusion (Acts 13:44-47).

12 tn Grk “they also.”
