Markus 6:49

6:49 When they saw him walking on the water they thought he was a ghost. They cried out,

Markus 9:3

9:3 and his clothes became radiantly white, more so than any launderer in the world could bleach them.

Markus 9:34

9:34 But they were silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest.

Markus 15:35

15:35 When some of the bystanders heard it they said, “Listen, he is calling for Elijah!”

tn Grk “on the sea,” “on the lake.” The translation “water” has been used here for stylistic reasons (cf. the same phrase in v. 48).

tn Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was started here in the translation.

sn Perhaps the crowd thought Jesus was calling for Elijah because the exclamation “my God, my God” (i.e., in Aramaic, Eloi, Eloi) sounds like the name Elijah.
