The Circumstances of Your Calling

7:17 Nevertheless,¹ as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each person, so must he live. I give this sort of direction in all the churches.

1 Korintus 7:21-23

7:21 Were you called as a slave?² Do not worry about it. But if indeed you are able to be free, make the most of the opportunity. 7:22 For the one who was called in the Lord as a slave is the Lord’s freedman. In the same way, the one who was called as a free person is Christ’s slave. 7:23 You were bought with a price. Do not become slaves of men.

Amsal 27:8

27:8 Like a bird that wanders³ from its nest,

so is a person who wanders from his home.⁴

Lukas 3:10-14

3:10 So⁵ the crowds were asking⁶ him, “What then should we do?” 3:11 John⁷ answered them,⁸ “The person who has two tunics⁹ must share with the person who has none, and the person who has food must do likewise.” 3:12 Tax collectors¹⁰ also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what should we do?” 3:13 He told them, “Collect no more¹¹ than you are required to.”¹² 3:14 Then some soldiers¹³ also asked him, “And as for us – what should we do?”¹⁴ He told them, “Take money from no one by violence¹⁵ or by false accusation,¹⁶ and be content with your pay.”

Lukas 4:11
