Eli’s Sons Misuse Their Sacred Office

2:12 The sons of Eli were wicked men.¹ They did not recognize the Lord’s authority.²

Yeremia 4:22

4:22 The Lord answered,³

“This will happen⁴ because my people are foolish.

They do not know me.

They are like children who have no sense.⁵

They have no understanding.

They are skilled at doing evil.
