8:1 Now we make known to you, brothers and sisters, 1 the grace of God given to the churches of Macedonia, 8:2 that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth 2 of their generosity.
9:1 For it is not necessary 4 for me to write you about this service 5 to the saints,
4:1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy, 6 we do not become discouraged. 7 4:2 But we have rejected 8 shameful hidden deeds, 9 not behaving 10 with deceptiveness 11 or distorting the word of God, but by open proclamation of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience before God.
1:5 The sun rises 12 and the sun sets; 13
it hurries away 14 to a place from which it rises 15 again. 16
1:6 The wind goes to the south and circles around to the north;
round and round 17 the wind goes and on its rounds it returns. 18
1:7 All the streams flow 19 into the sea, but the sea is not full,
and to the place where the streams flow, there they will flow again. 20
1:8 All this 21 monotony 22 is tiresome; no one can bear 23 to describe it: 24
The eye is never satisfied with seeing, nor is the ear ever content 25 with hearing.
3:18 I also thought to myself, “It is 26 for the sake of people, 27
so God can clearly 28 show 29 them that they are like animals.
