24:1 During Jehoiakim’s reign, 1 King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked. 2 Jehoiakim was his subject for three years, but then he rebelled against him. 3
2:11 Where now is the den of the lions, 4
the feeding place 5 of the young lions,
where 6 the lion, lioness, 7 and lion cub once prowled 8
and no one disturbed them? 9
2:12 The lion tore apart as much prey as his cubs needed 10
and strangled prey to provide food 11 for his lionesses;
he filled 12 his lairs with prey
and his dens with torn flesh.
2:13 “I am against you!” declares 13 the Lord who commands armies: 14
“I will burn your chariots 15 with fire; 16
the sword will devour your young lions; 17
you will no longer prey upon the land; 18
the voices of your messengers 19 will no longer be heard.”
