2 Samuel 14:14

14:14 Certainly we must die, and are like water spilled on the ground that cannot be gathered up again. But God does not take away life; instead he devises ways for the banished to be restored. ¹ 

Ayub 14:10-12

14:10 But man ²  dies and is powerless; ³ 

he expires – and where is he? ⁴ 

14:11 As ⁵  water disappears from the sea, ⁶ 

or a river drains away and dries up,

14:12 so man lies down and does not rise;

until the heavens are no more, ⁷ 

they ⁸  will not awake

nor arise from their sleep.

Mazmur 104:29

104:29 When you ignore them, they panic. ⁹ 

When you take away their life’s breath, they die

and return to dust.
