Amos 1:6

1:6 This is what the Lord says:

“Because Gaza¹ has committed three crimes² –

make that four!³ – I will not revoke my decree of judgment.⁴

They deported a whole community⁵ and sold them⁶ to Edom.

Amos 1:9

1:9 This is what the Lord says:

“Because Tyre has committed three crimes⁷ –

make that four!⁸ – I will not revoke my decree of judgment.⁹

They sold¹⁰ a whole community¹¹ to Edom;

they failed to observe¹² a treaty of brotherhood.¹³
