Amsal 10:7-32

10:7 The memory of the righteous is a blessing,

but the reputation of the wicked will rot.

10:8 The wise person accepts instructions,

but the one who speaks foolishness will come to ruin.

10:9 The one who conducts himself in integrity will live 10  securely,

but the one who behaves perversely 11  will be found out.

10:10 The one who winks 12  his 13  eye causes 14  trouble,

and the one who speaks foolishness 15  will come to ruin.

10:11 The teaching 16  of the righteous is a fountain of life, 17

but the speech 18  of the wicked conceals 19  violence. 20

10:12 Hatred 21  stirs up dissension,

but love covers all transgressions. 22

10:13 Wisdom is found in the words 23  of the discerning person, 24

but the one who lacks wisdom 25  will be disciplined. 26

10:14 Those who are wise 27  store up 28  knowledge,

but foolish speech 29  leads to imminent 30  destruction.

10:15 The wealth of a rich person is like 31  a fortified city, 32

but the poor are brought to ruin 33  by 34  their poverty.

10:16 The reward 35  which the righteous receive 36  is life;

the recompense 37  which the wicked receive 38  is judgment. 39

10:17 The one who heeds instruction 40  is on the way to 41  life,

but the one who rejects 42  rebuke goes astray.

10:18 The one who conceals hatred utters lies, 43

and the one who spreads 44  slander 45  is certainly 46  a fool.

10:19 When words abound, transgression is inevitable, 47

but the one who restrains 48  his words 49  is wise.

10:20 What the righteous say 50  is like 51  the best 52  silver,

but what the wicked think 53  is of little value. 54

10:21 The teaching 55  of the righteous feeds 56  many,

but fools die 57  for lack of wisdom. 58

10:22 The blessing 59  from the Lord 60  makes a person rich, 61

and he adds no sorrow 62  to 63  it.

10:23 Carrying out a wicked scheme 64  is enjoyable 65  to a fool,

and so is wisdom for the one who has discernment. 66

10:24 What the wicked fears 67  will come on him;

what the righteous desire 68  will be granted. 69

10:25 When the storm 70  passes through, the wicked are swept away, 71

but the righteous are an everlasting foundation. 72

10:26 Like vinegar to the teeth and like smoke to the eyes, 73

so is the sluggard to those 74  who send him.

10:27 Fearing the Lord 75  prolongs life, 76

but the life span 77  of the wicked will be shortened. 78

10:28 The hope 79  of the righteous is joy,

but the expectation of the wicked will remain unfulfilled. 80

10:29 The way of the Lord 81  is like 82  a stronghold for the upright, 83

but it is destruction 84  to evildoers. 85

10:30 The righteous will never be moved,

but the wicked will not inhabit the land. 86

10:31 The speech 87  of the righteous bears the fruit of wisdom, 88

but the one who speaks perversion 89  will be destroyed. 90

10:32 The lips of the righteous know 91  what is pleasing, 92

but the speech 93  of the wicked is perverse.
