3:18 So I said, “My endurance has expired;
I have lost all hope of deliverance 1 from the Lord.”
17:11 My days have passed, my plans 2 are shattered,
even 3 the desires 4 of my heart.
17:12 These men 5 change 6 night into day;
they say, 7 ‘The light is near
in the face of darkness.’ 8
17:13 If 9 I hope for the grave to be my home,
if I spread out my bed in darkness,
17:14 If I cry 10 to corruption, 11 ‘You are my father,’
and to the worm, ‘My Mother,’ or ‘My sister,’
17:15 where then 12 is my hope?
And my hope, 13 who sees it?

38:10 “I thought, 21

38:12 My dwelling place 26 is removed and taken away 27 from me
like a shepherd’s tent.
I rolled up my life like a weaver rolls cloth; 28
from the loom he cuts me off. 29
You turn day into night and end my life. 30
38:13 I cry out 31 until morning;
like a lion he shatters all my bones;
you turn day into night and end my life. 32
37:11 Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Look, they are saying, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope has perished; we are cut off.’
1:9 For this reason we also, from the day we heard about you, 35 have not ceased praying for you and asking God 36 to fill 37 you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 1:10 so that you may live 38 worthily of the Lord and please him in all respects 39 – bearing fruit in every good deed, growing in the knowledge of God,
