Lukas 10:34-42

10:34 He went up to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 10:35 The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever else you spend, I will repay you when I come back this way.’ 10:36 Which of these three do you think became a neighbor 10  to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” 10:37 The expert in religious law 11  said, “The one who showed mercy 12  to him.” So 13  Jesus said to him, “Go and do 14  the same.”

Jesus and Martha

10:38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus 15  entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him as a guest. 16  10:39 She 17  had a sister named Mary, who sat 18  at the Lord’s feet 19  and listened to what he said. 10:40 But Martha was distracted 20  with all the preparations she had to make, 21  so 22  she came up to him and said, “Lord, don’t you care 23  that my sister has left me to do all the work 24  alone? Tell 25  her to help me.” 10:41 But the Lord 26  answered her, 27  “Martha, Martha, 28  you are worried and troubled 29  about many things, 10:42 but one thing 30  is needed. Mary has chosen the best 31  part; it will not be taken away from her.”
