Benefits of Seeking Wisdom³

2:1 My child,⁴ if⁵ you receive my words,

and store up⁶ my commands within you,

2:2 by making⁷ your ear⁸ attentive to wisdom,

and⁹ by turning¹⁰ your heart¹¹ to understanding,

2:3 indeed, if¹² you call out for¹³ discernment¹⁴ –

raise your voice¹⁵ for understanding –

2:4 if¹⁶ you seek¹⁷ it like silver,¹⁸

and search for it¹⁹ like hidden treasure,

2:5 then you will understand²⁰ how to fear the Lord,²¹

and you will discover²² knowledge²³ about God.²⁴

2:6 For²⁵ the Lord gives²⁶ wisdom,

and from his mouth²⁷ comes²⁸ knowledge and understanding.
