Jesus’ Presentation at the Temple

2:22 Now when the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, Joseph and Mary 10  brought Jesus 11  up to Jerusalem 12  to present him to the Lord 2:23 (just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male 13  will be set apart to the Lord 14 ), 2:24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is specified in the law of the Lord, a pair of doves 15  or two young pigeons. 16 

The Prophecy of Simeon

2:25 Now 17  there was a man in Jerusalem 18  named Simeon who was righteous 19  and devout, looking for the restoration 20  of Israel, and the Holy Spirit 21  was upon him. 2:26 It 22  had been revealed 23  to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die 24  before 25  he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 26  2:27 So 27  Simeon, 28  directed by the Spirit, 29  came into the temple courts, 30  and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what was customary according to the law, 31 

Roma 15:8

15:8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised 32  on behalf of God’s truth to confirm the promises made to the fathers, 33 

Kolose 2:14

2:14 He has destroyed 34  what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness 35  expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross.
