1:22 “How long will you simpletons 1 love naiveté? 2
How long 3 will mockers 4 delight 5 in mockery 6
and fools 7 hate knowledge?
3:34 Although 8 he is scornful to arrogant scoffers, 9
yet 10 he shows favor to the humble. 11
14:6 The scorner 12 seeks wisdom but finds none, 13
but understanding is easy 14 for a discerning person.
5:19 They say, “Let him hurry, let him act quickly, 15
so we can see;
let the plan of the Holy One of Israel 16 take shape 17 and come to pass,
then we will know it!”
28:14 Therefore, listen to the Lord’s word,
you who mock,
you rulers of these people
who reside in Jerusalem! 18
29:20 For tyrants will disappear,
those who taunt will vanish,
and all those who love to do wrong will be eliminated 19 –
7:5 At the celebration 20 of their king, 21
his princes become inflamed 22 with wine;
they conspire 23 with evildoers.
