The Beloved about Her Lover:

2:3 Like¹ an apple tree² among the trees of the forest,

so is my beloved among the young men.

I delight³ to sit⁴ in his shade,⁵

and his fruit⁶ is sweet⁷ to my taste.⁸

2:5 Sustain¹³ me with raisin cakes,¹⁴
