1:13 Visit ¹  King David and say to him, ‘My master, O king, did you not solemnly promise ²  your servant, “Surely your son Solomon will be king after me; he will sit on my throne”? So why has Adonijah become king?’

2:15 He said, “You know that the kingdom ³  was mine and all Israel considered me king. ⁴  But then the kingdom was given to my brother, for the Lord decided it should be his. ⁵

7:8 The palace where he lived was constructed in a similar way. ⁶  He also constructed a palace like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had married. ⁷
