11:9 The Lord was angry with Solomon because he had shifted his allegiance ¹  away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him on two occasions ²

18:30 Elijah then told all the people, “Approach me.” So all the people approached him. He repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down. ³ 

[11:9]  ¹ tn Heb “bent his heart.”

[11:9]  ² sn These two occasions are mentioned in 1 Kgs 3:5 and 9:2.

[18:30]  ³ sn Torn down. The condition of the altar symbolizes the spiritual state of the people.
