1 Raja-raja 3:6

3:6 Solomon replied, “You demonstrated ¹  great loyalty to your servant, my father David, as he served ²  you faithfully, properly, and sincerely. ³  You have maintained this great loyalty to this day by allowing his son to sit on his throne. ⁴

13:4 When the king heard what the prophet ⁵  cried out against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam, standing at the altar, extended his hand ⁶  and ordered, ⁷  “Seize him!” The hand he had extended shriveled up ⁸  and he could not pull it back.

[3:6]  ³ tn Heb “in faithfulness and in innocence and in uprightness of heart with you.”

[3:6]  ⁴ tn Heb “and you have kept to him this great loyalty and you gave to him a son [who] sits on his throne as this day.”

[13:4]  ⁶ tn Heb “Jeroboam extended his hand from the altar.”

[13:4]  ⁷ tn Heb “saying.”

[13:4]  ⁸ tn Heb “dried up” or “withered.” TEV and NLT interpret this as “became paralyzed.”
