7:2 He named ¹  it “The Palace of the Lebanon Forest”; ²  it was 150 feet ³  long, 75 feet ⁴  wide, and 45 feet ⁵  high. It had four rows of cedar pillars and cedar beams above the pillars.

20:23 Now the advisers ⁶  of the king of Syria said to him: “Their God is a god of the mountains. That’s why they overpowered us. But if we fight them in the plains, we will certainly overpower them.

20:28 The prophet ⁷  visited the king of Israel and said, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Because the Syrians said, “The Lord is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys,” I will hand over to you this entire huge army. ⁸  Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

[7:2]  ² sn The Palace of the Lebanon Forest. This name was appropriate because of the large amount of cedar, undoubtedly brought from Lebanon, used in its construction. The cedar pillars in the palace must have given it the appearance of a forest.

[7:2]  ⁴ tn Heb “fifty cubits.”

[7:2]  ⁵ tn Heb “thirty cubits.”

[20:23]  ⁶ tn Or “servants.”

[20:28]  ⁷ tn Heb “the man of God.”

[20:28]  ⁸ tn Heb “I will place all this great horde in your hand.”
