8:32 Listen from heaven and make a just decision about your servants’ claims. Condemn the guilty party, declare the other innocent, and give both of them what they deserve. ¹

8:36 then listen from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Certainly ²  you will then teach them the right way to live ³  and send rain on your land that you have given your people to possess. ⁴

8:44 “When you direct your people to march out and fight their enemies, ⁵  and they direct their prayers to the Lord ⁶  toward his chosen city and this temple I built for your honor, ⁷

8:53 After all, ⁸  you picked them out of all the nations of the earth to be your special possession, ⁹  just as you, O sovereign Lord, announced through your servant Moses when you brought our ancestors out of Egypt.”

19:14 He answered, “I have been absolutely loyal ¹⁰  to the Lord, the sovereign God, ¹¹  even though the Israelites have abandoned the agreement they made with you, ¹²  torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I alone am left and now they want to take my life.” ¹³
