1 Raja-raja 8:36

8:36 then listen from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Certainly ¹  you will then teach them the right way to live ²  and send rain on your land that you have given your people to possess. ³

16:7 The prophet Jehu son of Hanani received from the Lord the message predicting the downfall of Baasha and his family because of all the evil Baasha had done in the sight of the Lord. ⁴  His actions angered the Lord (including the way he had destroyed Jeroboam’s dynasty), so that his family ended up like Jeroboam’s. ⁵ 

[8:36]  ¹ tn The translation understands כִּי (ki) in an emphatic or asseverative sense.

[8:36]  ² tn Heb “the good way in which they should walk.”

[8:36]  ³ tn Or “for an inheritance.”

[16:7]  ⁴ tn Heb “and also through Jehu son of Hanani the word of the Lord came concerning [or “against”] Baasha and his house, and because of all the evil which he did in the eyes of the Lord.”

[16:7]  ⁵ tn Heb “angering him by the work of his hands, so that he was like the house of Jeroboam, and because of how he struck it down.”
