8:37 “The time will come when the land suffers from a famine, a plague, blight and disease, or a locust ¹  invasion, or when their enemy lays siege to the cities of the land, ²  or when some other type of plague or epidemic occurs.

1 Raja-raja 9:19

9:19 all the storage cities that belonged to him, ³  and the cities where chariots and horses were kept. ⁴  He built whatever he wanted in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and throughout his entire kingdom. ⁵ 

[8:37]  ¹ tn Actually two Hebrew terms appear here, both of which are usually taken as referring to locusts. Perhaps different stages of growth or different varieties are in view.

[8:37]  ² tn Heb “in the land, his gates.”

[9:19]  ³ tn Heb “to Solomon.” The proper name has been replaced by the pronoun (“him”) in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[9:19]  ⁴ tn Heb “the cities of the chariots and the cities of the horses.”

[9:19]  ⁵ tn Heb “and the desire of Solomon which he desired to build in Jerusalem and in Lebanon and in all the land of his kingdom.”
