9:21 Their descendants remained in the land (the Israelites were unable to wipe them out completely). Solomon conscripted them for his work crews, and they continue in that role to this very day. ¹

9:1 After Solomon finished building the Lord’s temple, the royal palace, and all the other construction projects he had planned, ²

David Orders a Temple to Be Built

22:2 David ordered the resident foreigners in the land of Israel to be called together. He appointed some of them to be stonecutters to chisel stones for the building of God’s temple.

Yesaya 31:8

31:8 Assyria will fall by a sword, but not one human-made; ³ 

a sword not made by humankind will destroy them. ⁴ 

They will run away from this sword ⁵ 

and their young men will be forced to do hard labor.
