1 Samuel 17:2-3

17:2 Saul and the Israelite army ¹  assembled and camped in the valley of Elah, where they arranged their battle lines to fight against ²  the Philistines. 17:3 The Philistines were standing on one hill, and the Israelites ³  on another hill, with the valley between them.
