3:14 But their minds were closed. ¹  For to this very day, the same veil remains when they hear the old covenant read. ²  It has not been removed because only in Christ is it taken away. ³ 

2 Korintus 5:12

5:12 We are not trying to commend ⁴  ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to be proud of us, ⁵  so that you may be able to answer those who take pride ⁶  in outward appearance ⁷  and not in what is in the heart.

2 Korintus 7:9

7:9 Now I rejoice, not because you were made sad, ⁸  but because you were made sad to the point of repentance. For you were made sad as God intended, ⁹  so that you were not harmed ¹⁰  in any way by us.

[5:12]  ⁴ tn The present tense of συνιστάνομεν (sunistanomen) has been translated as a conative present.

[7:9]  ⁸ tn Grk “were grieved” (so also twice later in the verse).

[7:9]  ⁹ tn Grk “corresponding to God,” that is, corresponding to God’s will (κατὰ θεόν, kata qeon). The same phrase occurs in vv. 10 and 11.
