17:23 Finally ¹  the Lord rejected Israel ²  just as he had warned he would do ³  through all his servants the prophets. Israel was deported from its land to Assyria and remains there to this very day.

18:17 The king of Assyria sent his commanding general, the chief eunuch, and the chief adviser ⁴  from Lachish to King Hezekiah in Jerusalem, ⁵  along with a large army. They went up and arrived at Jerusalem. They went ⁶  and stood at the conduit of the upper pool which is located on the road to the field where they wash and dry cloth. ⁷

23:30 His servants transported his dead body ⁸  from Megiddo in a chariot and brought it to Jerusalem, where they buried him in his tomb. The people of the land took Josiah’s son Jehoahaz, poured olive oil on his head, ⁹  and made him king in his father’s place.
