2:3 Some members of the prophetic guild ¹  in Bethel came out to Elisha and said, “Do you know that today the Lord is going to take your master from you?” ²  He answered, “Yes, I know. Be quiet.”

10:19 So now, bring to me all the prophets of Baal, as well as all his servants and priests. ³  None of them must be absent, for I am offering a great sacrifice to Baal. Any of them who fail to appear will lose their lives.” But Jehu was tricking them ⁴  so he could destroy the servants of Baal.

The King of Assyria Populates Israel with Foreigners

17:24 The king of Assyria brought foreigners ¹²  from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim and settled them in the cities of Samaria ¹³  in place of the Israelites. They took possession of Samaria and lived in its cities.

18:12 This happened because they did not obey ¹⁴  the Lord their God and broke his agreement with them. ¹⁵  They did not pay attention to and obey all that Moses, the Lord’s servant, had commanded. ¹⁶
