Yeremia 8:1

8:1 The Lord says, “When that time comes, ³  the bones of the kings of Judah and its leaders, the bones of the priests and prophets and of all the other people who lived in Jerusalem will be dug up from their graves.

Yehezkiel 6:5

6:5 I will place the corpses of the people of Israel in front of their idols, ⁴  and I will scatter your bones around your altars.

[23:14]  ¹ tn Heb “their places.”

[141:7]  ² tn Heb “like splitting and breaking open in the earth.” The meaning of the statement and the point of the comparison are not entirely clear. Perhaps the psalmist is suggesting that he and other godly individuals are as good as dead; their bones are scattered about like dirt that is dug up and tossed aside.

[8:1]  ³ tn Heb “At that time.”

[6:5]  ⁴ tc This first sentence, which explains the meaning of the last sentence of the previous verse, does not appear in the LXX and may be an instance of a marginal explanatory note making its way into the text.
