4:35 Elisha ¹  went back and walked around in the house. ²  Then he got up on the bed again ³  and bent down over him. The child sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.

2 Raja-raja 6:22

6:22 He replied, “Do not strike them down! You did not capture them with your sword or bow, so what gives you the right to strike them down? ⁴  Give them some food and water, so they can eat and drink and then go back to their master.”

9:11 When Jehu rejoined ⁵  his master’s servants, they ⁶  asked him, “Is everything all right? ⁷  Why did this madman visit you?” He replied, “Ah, it’s not important. You know what kind of man he is and the kinds of things he says.” ⁸

16:11 Uriah the priest built an altar in conformity to the plans King Ahaz had sent from Damascus. ⁹  Uriah the priest finished it before King Ahaz arrived back from Damascus. ¹⁰

23:20 He sacrificed all the priests of the high places on the altars located there, and burned human bones on them. Then he returned to Jerusalem.

[9:11]  ⁶ tc The MT has the singular, “he said,” but many witnesses correctly read the plural.

[9:11]  ⁸ tn Heb “He said, ‘You, you know the man and his thoughts.’” Jehu tries to deflect their question by reminding them that the man is an eccentric individual who says strange things. His reply suggests that the man said nothing of importance. The translation seeks to bring out the tone and intent of Jehu’s reply.
