2 Raja-raja 5:15

5:15 He and his entire entourage returned to the prophet. Naaman ¹  came and stood before him. He said, “For sure ²  I know that there is no God in all the earth except in Israel! Now, please accept a gift from your servant.”

2 Raja-raja 5:17

5:17 Naaman said, “If not, then please give your servant a load of dirt, enough for a pair of mules to carry, ³  for your servant will never again offer a burnt offering or sacrifice to a god other than the Lord. ⁴ 

2 Raja-raja 7:10

7:10 So they went and called out to the gatekeepers ⁵  of the city. They told them, “We entered the Syrian camp and there was no one there. We didn’t even hear a man’s voice. ⁶  But the horses and donkeys are still tied up, and the tents remain up.” ⁷ 

2 Raja-raja 13:7

13:7 Jehoahaz had no army left ⁸  except for fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and 10,000 foot soldiers. The king of Syria had destroyed his troops ⁹  and trampled on them like dust. ¹⁰ 

2 Raja-raja 24:14

24:14 He deported all the residents of Jerusalem, including all the officials and all the soldiers (10,000 people in all). This included all the craftsmen and those who worked with metal. No one was left except for the poorest among the people of the land.

[7:10]  ⁵ tn The MT has a singular form (“gatekeeper”), but the context suggests a plural. The pronoun that follows (“them”) is plural and a plural noun appears in v. 11. The Syriac Peshitta and the Targum have the plural here.

[7:10]  ⁷ tn Heb “but the horses are tied up and the donkeys are tied up and the tents are as they were.”

[13:7]  ⁸ tn Heb “Indeed he did not leave to Jehoahaz people.” The identity of the subject is uncertain, but the king of Syria, mentioned later in the verse, is a likely candidate.
