[3:12]  1 tn The Hebrew text adds here, “on his behalf.”

[3:12]  2 tn Heb “cut a covenant.” So also in vv. 13, 21.

[3:12]  3 tn Heb “and behold, my hand is with you.”

[7:23]  4 tn Heb “a nation, one.”

[7:23]  5 tn Heb “whose God” or “because God.” In the Hebrew text this clause is subordinated to what precedes. The clauses are separated in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[7:23]  6 tn The verb is plural in Hebrew, agreeing grammatically with the divine name, which is a plural of degree.

[7:23]  7 tn Heb “redeem.”

[7:23]  8 tn Heb “and to do for you [plural form] the great [thing] and awesome [things] for your land.”

[7:23]  9 tn Heb “from Egypt, nations and their gods.” The LXX has “nations and tents,” which reflects a mistaken metathesis of letters in אֶלֹהָיו (elohav, “its gods”) and אֹהָלָיו (’ohalav, “its tents”).

[9:7]  10 tn Heb “and you will eat food over my table continually.”

[13:20]  11 tn Heb “Don’t set your heart to this thing!”

[15:20]  12 tn Heb “brothers,” but see v. 22.

[15:20]  13 tn Heb “loyal love and truth.” The expression is a hendiadys.

[15:20]  14 tn Heb “be with.”
