10:15 The king refused to listen to the people, because God was instigating this turn of events ¹  so that he might bring to pass the prophetic announcement he had made ²  through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.

2 Tawarikh 26:16

26:16 But once he became powerful, his pride destroyed him. ³  He disobeyed ⁴  the Lord his God. He entered the Lord’s temple to offer incense on the incense altar.

2 Tawarikh 33:9

33:9 But Manasseh misled the people of ⁵  Judah and the residents of Jerusalem so that they sinned more than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed ahead of the Israelites.

[26:16]  ³ tn Heb “his heart was high [i.e., proud] to destroy.”

[33:9]  ⁵ tn Heb “misled Judah.” The words “the people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the name “Judah” here by metonymy for the people of Judah.
