2:5 I will build a great temple, for our God is greater than all gods.

2 Tawarikh 3:6-7

3:6 He decorated the temple with precious stones; the gold he used came from Parvaim. ¹  3:7 He overlaid the temple’s rafters, thresholds, walls and doors with gold; he carved decorative cherubim on the walls.

2 Tawarikh 9:24

9:24 Year after year visitors brought their gifts, which included items of silver, items of gold, clothes, perfume, spices, horses, and mules. ²

11:11 He fortified these cities and placed officers in them, as well as storehouses of food, olive oil, and wine.

35:5 Stand in the sanctuary and, together with the Levites, represent the family divisions of your countrymen. ³ 

[3:6]  ¹ tn Heb “and he plated the house [with] precious stone for beauty, and the gold was the gold of Parvaim.”

[3:6]  sn The location of Parvaim, the source of the gold for Solomon’s temple, is uncertain. Some have identified it with modern Farwa in Yemen; others relate it to the Sanskrit parvam and understand it to be a general term for the regions east of Palestine.

[9:24]  ² tn Heb “and they were bringing each one his gift, items of silver…and mules, the matter of a year in a year.”

[35:5]  ³ tn Heb “and stand in the sanctuary by the divisions of the house of the fathers for your brothers, the sons of the people, and a division of the house of a father for the Levites.”
