TB NETBible YUN-IBR Ref. Silang Nama Gambar Himne

2 Tawarikh 22:11

Konteks
22:11 So Jehoshabeath, 1  the daughter of King Jehoram, 2  took Ahaziah’s son Joash and sneaked him away 3  from the rest of the royal descendants who were to be executed. She hid him and his nurse in the room where the bed covers were stored. So Jehoshabeath the daughter of King Jehoram, wife of Jehoiada the priest and sister of Ahaziah, hid him from Athaliah so she could not execute him.

2 Tawarikh 25:4

Konteks
25:4 However, he did not execute their sons. He obeyed the Lord’s commandment as recorded in the law scroll of Moses, 4  “Fathers must not be executed for what their sons do, 5  and sons must not be executed for what their fathers do. 6  A man must be executed only for his own sin.” 7

2 Tawarikh 28:23

Konteks
28:23 He offered sacrifices to the gods of Damascus whom he thought had defeated him. 8  He reasoned, 9  “Since the gods of the kings of Damascus helped them, I will sacrifice to them so they will help me.” But they caused him and all Israel to stumble.

2 Tawarikh 32:15

Konteks
32:15 Now don’t let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you like this. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to rescue his people from my power or the power of my predecessors. So how 10  can your gods rescue 11  you from my power?’”

[22:11]  1 sn Jehoshabeath is a variant spelling of the name Jehosheba (2 Kgs 11:2).

[22:11]  2 tn Heb “the king”; the referent (King Jehoram, see later in this verse) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[22:11]  3 tn Heb “stole.”

[25:4]  4 tn Heb “as it is written in the scroll of the law of Moses which the Lord commanded, saying.”

[25:4]  5 tn Heb “on account of sons.”

[25:4]  6 tn Heb “on account of fathers.”

[25:4]  7 sn This law is recorded in Deut 24:16.

[28:23]  8 tn Heb “the gods of Damascus, the ones who had defeated him.” The words “he thought” are supplied in the translation for clarification. The perspective is that of Ahaz, not the narrator! Another option is that “the kings” has been accidentally omitted after “gods of.” See v. 23b.

[28:23]  9 tn Heb “said.”

[32:15]  10 tn Heb “how much less.”

[32:15]  11 tn The verb is plural, suggesting that the preceding אֱלֹהֵיכֶם (’elohekhem) be translated “your gods,” rather than “your God.”
