25:28 His body was carried back by horses, ¹  and he was buried in Jerusalem with his ancestors ²  in the City of David. ³

[25:28]  ³ tc The Hebrew text has “Judah,” but some medieval mss read “David,” as does the parallel passage in 2 Kgs 14:20.

[25:28]  sn The phrase the City of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.
