17:5 The Lord made his kingdom secure; ¹  all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he became very wealthy and greatly respected. ²

33:16 He erected the altar of the Lord and offered on it peace offerings and thank offerings. He told the people of ³  Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel.

[17:5]  ¹ tn Heb “established the kingdom in his hand.”

[17:5]  ² tn Heb “and he had wealth and honor in abundance.”

[33:16]  ³ tn Heb “told Judah.” The words “the people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the name “Judah” here by metonymy for the people of Judah.
