Solomon Entertains a Queen

9:1 When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, ⁴⁰  she came to challenge ⁴¹  him ⁴²  with difficult questions. ⁴³  She arrived in Jerusalem ⁴⁴  with a great display of pomp, ⁴⁵  bringing with her camels carrying spices, ⁴⁶  a very large quantity of gold, and precious gems. She visited Solomon and discussed with him everything that was on her mind.

22:9 He looked for Ahaziah, who was captured while hiding in Samaria. ⁴⁷  They brought him to Jehu and then executed him. They did give him a burial, for they reasoned, ⁴⁸  “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with his whole heart.” There was no one in Ahaziah’s family strong enough to rule in his place. ⁴⁹
