20:24 When the men of Judah ¹  arrived at the observation post overlooking the desert and looked at ²  the huge army, they saw dead bodies on the ground; there were no survivors!

This royal edict read: ⁴  “O Israelites, return to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so he may return ⁵  to you who have been spared from the kings of Assyria. ⁶

36:16 But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his warnings, ¹²  and ridiculed his prophets. ¹³  Finally the Lord got very angry at his people and there was no one who could prevent his judgment. ¹⁴
