4:19 Solomon also made these items for God’s temple: the gold altar, the tables on which the Bread of the Presence ¹  was kept,

23:7 The Levites must surround the king. Each of you must hold his weapon in his hand. Whoever tries to enter the temple ²  must be killed. You must accompany the king wherever he goes.” ³ 

2 Tawarikh 24:16

24:16 He was buried in the City of David ⁴  with the kings, because he had accomplished good in Israel and for God and his temple.

[4:19]  ¹ tn Heb “the bread of the face/presence.”

[4:19]  sn This bread offered to God was viewed as a perpetual offering to God. See Lev 24:5-9.

[23:7]  ² tn Heb “house.”

[23:7]  ³ tn Heb “and be with the king in his coming out and in his going out.”

[24:16]  ⁴ sn The phrase the City of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.
