[6:30]  1 tn The words “their sin” are not in the Hebrew text, but are supplied for clarification.

[6:30]  2 tn Heb “and act and give to each one according to all his ways because you know his heart.” In the Hebrew text vv. 28-30a actually contain one lengthy conditional sentence, which the translation has divided up for stylistic reasons.

[6:30]  3 tn Heb “Indeed you know, you alone, the heart of all the sons of mankind.”

[7:7]  4 tc The Hebrew text omits reference to the grain offerings at this point, but note that they are included both in the list in the second half of the verse (see note on “offerings” at the end of this verse) and in the parallel account in 1 Kgs 8:64. The construction וְאֶת־הַמִּנְחָה (vÿet-hamminkhah; vav [ו] + accusative sign + noun with article; “grain offerings”) was probably omitted accidentally by homoioarcton. Note the וְאֶת (vÿet) that immediately follows.

[7:7]  5 tn Heb “to hold the burnt sacrifices, grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.” Because this is redundant, the translation employs a summary phrase: “all these offerings.”

[7:10]  6 tn Heb “he”; the referent (Solomon) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[7:10]  7 tn The words “they left” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[7:10]  8 tn Heb “good of heart.”

[19:11]  9 tn Heb “and look, Amariah the chief priest is over you with respect to every matter of the Lord, and Zebadiah…with respect to every matter of the king.”

[19:11]  10 tn Heb “Be strong and act!”

[20:15]  11 tn Heb “all Judah.” The words “you people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the name “Judah” by metonymy for the people of Judah. Unlike the previous instance in v. 13 where infants, wives, and children are mentioned separately, this reference appears to include them all.

[20:15]  12 tn Or perhaps “don’t get discouraged.”

[31:5]  13 tn Heb “and when the word spread out.”

[31:5]  14 tn Heb “the sons of Israel multiplied.”

[34:33]  15 tn Or “caused, forced.”

[34:33]  16 tn Heb “all his days.”
