2 Tawarikh 7:7

7:7 Solomon consecrated the middle of the courtyard that is in front of the Lord’s temple. He offered burnt sacrifices, grain offerings, ¹  and the fat from the peace offerings there, because the bronze altar that Solomon had made was too small to hold all these offerings. ² 

2 Tawarikh 9:12

9:12 King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba everything she requested, more than what she had brought him. ³  Then she left and returned ⁴  to her homeland with her attendants.

2 Tawarikh 23:18

23:18 Jehoiada then assigned the duties of the Lord’s temple to the priests, the Levites whom David had assigned to the Lord’s temple. They were responsible for offering burnt sacrifices to the Lord with joy and music, according to ⁵  the law of Moses and the edict of David.

2 Tawarikh 29:21

29:21 They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven goats as a sin offering for the kingdom, the sanctuary, and Judah. ⁶  The king ⁷  told the priests, the descendants of Aaron, to offer burnt sacrifices on the altar of the Lord.

2 Tawarikh 29:27

29:27 Hezekiah ordered the burnt sacrifice to be offered on the altar. As they began to offer the sacrifice, they also began to sing to the Lord, accompanied by the trumpets and the musical instruments of King David of Israel.

2 Tawarikh 32:15

32:15 Now don’t let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you like this. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to rescue his people from my power or the power of my predecessors. So how ⁸  can your gods rescue ⁹  you from my power?’”

[7:7]  ¹ tc The Hebrew text omits reference to the grain offerings at this point, but note that they are included both in the list in the second half of the verse (see note on “offerings” at the end of this verse) and in the parallel account in 1 Kgs 8:64. The construction וְאֶת־הַמִּנְחָה (vÿ’et-hamminkhah; vav [ו] + accusative sign + noun with article; “grain offerings”) was probably omitted accidentally by homoioarcton. Note the וְאֶת (vÿ’et) that immediately follows.

[7:7]  ² tn Heb “to hold the burnt sacrifices, grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.” Because this is redundant, the translation employs a summary phrase: “all these offerings.”

[9:12]  ³ tn Heb “besides what she brought to the king.”

[29:21]  ⁶ sn Perhaps these terms refer metonymically to the royal court, the priests and Levites, and the people, respectively.

[32:15]  ⁸ tn Heb “how much less.”

[32:15]  ⁹ tn The verb is plural, suggesting that the preceding אֱלֹהֵיכֶם (’elohekhem) be translated “your gods,” rather than “your God.”
