Daniel 2:23

2:23 O God of my fathers, I acknowledge and glorify you,

for you have bestowed wisdom and power on me.

Now you have enabled me to understand what I ¹  requested from you.

For you have enabled me to understand the king’s dilemma.” ² 

Daniel 9:7

9:7 “You are righteous, ³  O Lord, but we are humiliated this day ⁴  – the people ⁵  of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far away in all the countries in which you have scattered them, because they have behaved unfaithfully toward you.

Daniel 9:15

9:15 “Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with great power ⁶  and made a name for yourself that is remembered to this day – we have sinned and behaved wickedly.

[2:23]  ¹ tn Aram “we.” Various explanations have been offered for the plural, but it is probably best understood as the editorial plural; so also with “me” later in this verse.

[2:23]  ² tn Aram “the word of the king.”

[9:7]  ³ tn Heb “to you (belongs) righteousness.”

[9:7]  ⁴ tn Heb “and to us (belongs) shame of face like this day.”

[9:7]  ⁵ tn Heb “men.”

[9:15]  ⁶ tn Heb “with a powerful hand.”
