Daniel 7:12

7:12 As for the rest of the beasts, their ruling authority had already been removed, though they were permitted to go on living ¹  for a time and a season.

Daniel 7:18

7:18 The holy ones ²  of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will take possession of the kingdom forever and ever.’

Daniel 11:1

11:1 And in the first year of Darius the Mede, I ³  stood to strengthen him and to provide protection for him.)

[7:18]  ² sn The expression holy ones is either a reference to angels or to human beings devoted to God.

[11:1]  ³ sn The antecedent of the pronoun “I” is the angel, not Daniel. The traditional chapter division at this point, and the presence of a chronological note in the verse similar to ones used elsewhere in the book to position Daniel’s activities in relation to imperial affairs, sometimes lead to confusion on this matter.
