Yehezkiel 25:2-3

25:2 “Son of man, turn toward ¹  the Ammonites ²  and prophesy against them. 25:3 Say to the Ammonites, ‘Hear the word of the sovereign Lord: This is what the sovereign Lord says: You said “Aha!” about my sanctuary when it was desecrated, about the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and about the house of Judah when they went into exile.

Yehezkiel 25:6

25:6 For this is what the sovereign Lord says: Because you clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced with intense scorn ³  over the land of Israel,

Mazmur 83:2-4

83:2 For look, your enemies are making a commotion;

those who hate you are hostile. ¹¹

83:4 They say, “Come on, let’s annihilate them so they are no longer a nation! ¹⁵ 

Then the name of Israel will be remembered no more.”

[35:21]  ⁶ tn Heb “our eye sees.” Apparently this is an idiom meaning to “look in triumph” or “gloat over” (see Ps 54:7).

[83:2]  ¹¹ tn Heb “lift up [their] head[s].” The phrase “lift up [the] head” here means “to threaten; to be hostile,” as in Judg 8:28.

[83:3]  ¹⁴ tn The passive participle of the Hebrew verb צָפַן (tsafan, “to hide”) is used here in the sense of “treasured; cherished.”
