TB NETBible YUN-IBR Ref. Silang Nama Gambar Himne

Hakim-hakim 6:37

Konteks
6:37 Look, I am putting a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece, and the ground around it 1  is dry, then I will be sure 2  that you will use me to deliver Israel, 3  as you promised.”

Hakim-hakim 7:20

Konteks
7:20 All three units blew their trumpets and broke their jars. They held the torches in their left hand and the trumpets in their right. 4  Then they yelled, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!”

Hakim-hakim 8:10

Konteks

8:10 Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor with their armies. There were about fifteen thousand survivors from the army of the eastern peoples; a hundred and twenty thousand sword-wielding soldiers had been killed. 5

Hakim-hakim 9:5

Konteks
9:5 He went to his father’s home in Ophrah and murdered his half-brothers, 6  the seventy legitimate 7  sons of Jerub-Baal, on one stone. Only Jotham, Jerub-Baal’s youngest son, escaped, 8  because he hid.

Hakim-hakim 14:3

Konteks
14:3 But his father and mother said to him, “Certainly you can find a wife among your relatives or among all our 9  people! You should not have to go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines.” 10  But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, 11  because she is the right one for me.” 12

Hakim-hakim 19:18

Konteks
19:18 The Levite 13  said to him, “We are traveling from Bethlehem 14  in Judah to the remote region of the Ephraimite hill country. That’s where I’m from. I had business in Bethlehem in Judah, but now I’m heading home. 15  But no one has invited me into their home.

[6:37]  1 tn Heb “all the ground.”

[6:37]  2 tn Or “know.”

[6:37]  3 tn Heb “you will deliver Israel by my hand.”

[7:20]  4 tn The Hebrew text adds, “in order to blow [them].” This has not been included in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[8:10]  5 tn Heb “About fifteen thousand [in number] were all the ones remaining from the army of the sons of the east. The fallen ones were a hundred and twenty thousand [in number], men drawing the sword.”

[9:5]  6 tn Heb “his brothers.”

[9:5]  7 tn The word “legitimate” is not in the Hebrew text, but is supplied in the translation for clarification.

[9:5]  8 tn Heb “remained.”

[14:3]  9 tn Heb “my.” The singular may seem strange, since the introduction to the quotation attributes the words to his father and mother. But Samson’s father apparently speaks for both himself and his wife. However, the Lucianic recension of the LXX and the Syriac Peshitta have a second person pronoun here (“you”), and this may represent the original reading.

[14:3]  10 tn Heb “Is there not among the daughters of your brothers or among all my people a woman that you have to go to get a wife among the uncircumcised Philistines?”

[14:3]  11 tn “Her” is first in the Hebrew word order for emphasis. Samson wanted this Philistine girl, no one else. See C. F. Burney, Judges, 357.

[14:3]  12 tn Heb “because she is right in my eyes.”

[19:18]  13 tn Heb “he”; the referent (the Levite) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[19:18]  14 map For location see Map5 B1; Map7 E2; Map8 E2; Map10 B4.

[19:18]  15 tn Heb “I went to Bethlehem in Judah, but [to] the house of the LORD I am going.” The Hebrew text has “house of the LORD,” which might refer to the shrine at Shiloh. The LXX reads “to my house.”
